Biography

Gyoungmin Kim creates and captures human figures with bronze or steel. She alights each with acrylic, offering fine detail, color, and expression. Working largely with bronze, she creates statues that are emotionally and sartorially rich. Kim's sculptures live in their own 'category of the commonplace,' where she illustrates beauty in the mundane.

Kim graduated with an MFA from Sungshin Women's University and is currently completing a PhD at Hongik University. She has been shown around the world, both at solo exhibitions as well as in group shows. She holds acclaim as a public artist in Korea and her work is collected in private collections globally. Her sculptures can be seen at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporaries Art in Korea, the Hong Kong Velodrome, and more.
